Cynthia Dewi Oka chosen for the next Blessing the Boats Selection

 Rochester, NY— BOA Editions, Ltd. will publish A Tinderbox in Three Acts by Cynthia Dewi Oka as the next Blessing the Boats Selections title. Oka will receive a $5,000 honorarium, and her manuscript will be published in September 2022 as part of the American Poets Continuum Series. A Tinderbox in Three Acts is the second selection by Blessing the Boats Selections Editor-at-Large Aracelis Girmay. Matt Morton Wins Philosophical Society of Texas Book Prize for Poetry

Rochester, N.Y. — The Philosophical Society of Texas announced Monday, February 7, 2022 that Matt Morton’s Improvisation Without Accompaniment (BOA Editions, 2020) is the winner for the annual Philosophical Society of Texas Book Prize in Poetry. The prize, consisting of a $2,500 purse, honors a book of poetry that must either be about Texas or have been written by an author who has resided in or who was born within the boundaries of the Republic of Texas as claimed in 1836. BOA Editions to Receive $30,000 Grant from the NEA

  Rochester, N.Y. — BOA Editions, Ltd. has been approved for a $30,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support the publication and promotion of eight new books of contemporary poetry.
