Lannan Translations Series

NOTE: Due to a backlog of material, BOA will not be accepting unsolicited submissions for the Lannan Translations Selection Series for the foreseeable future. We will post updates here and on social media when we are able to accept open submissions again. Thank you for your understanding.

The Lannan Foundation of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is funding two new collections of contemporary international poetry to be published by BOA Editions in 2017. The funds support production costs and author and translator royalties. BOA Editions is grateful to the Lannan Foundation for its support of poetry and the art of translation.

Submission Guidelines:


  • Submit only one book-length (est. 48-100 pages), complete manuscript at a time. If two manuscripts are sent, both will be recycled.
  • Manuscript pages should be one-sided.
  • Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient return postage.
  • Send the manuscript ATTN: Translation Poetry Submission.
  • Simultaneous submissions are okay. Please state so in the cover letter.
  • Include a cover letter. Do not include a résumé or vitae.
  • Include title, publisher, and publication year of previous full-length poetry collections you have published.
  • Allow a minimum of four to five months for reply.
  • Please note that manuscripts will be recycled, not returned.
  • There is no submission fee associated with this reading period.
