The acclaim keeps rolling in for Chen Chen's debut collection! The Publishing Triangle announced earlier this month that When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities was selected as a finalist for the Thom Gunn Award for Gay Poetry.
The Thom Gunn Award honors Thom Gunn (1929-2004), who was the author of The Man with Night Sweats (1992) and many other acclaimed volumes. Gunn, who was born in Kent, England, lived in San Francisco from 1960 until his death. The award was previously known as the Triangle Award for Gay Poetry and was renamed to honor Mr. Gunn (a previous winner of the award) after his death. The Publishing Triangle along with the Lambda Literary Awards honor the best works published by LGBT authors in the United States.
Winners for the 2018 Publishing Triangle Awards will be announced at a ceremony in New York City on April 26, 2017 at the New School in Manhattan. Visit The Publishing Triangle's website for additional details.
Readers in Rochester and Upstate New York can hear Chen Chen read from his award-winning debut collection at a free public event on Friday, April 20, at the Rochester City Hall Atrium.
Congratulations, Chen!
