Poetry Foundation selects Snodgrass' "April Inventory"
In case you haven't had your daily injection of verse, the Poetry Foundation recommends W.D. Snodgrass' poem "April Inventory" as the Poem of the Day for Monday, April 23! You can read the poem at the Poetry Foundation website, along with other Snodgrass poems. You can find "April Inventory" in Not For Specialists: New and Selected Poems, which includes the Pulitzer Prize-winning collection Heart's Needle, in addition to selections from The Fuhrer Bunker, Snodgrass' collection of dramatic monologues spoken by the German High Command at the end of World War II.

Ryan Teitman's 'Litany' Selected for Hey, Small Press! April Book List
Hey, Small Press! is devoted to encouraging public libraries to stock their shelves with books from independent publishers around the country. As noted on their website, their method is three-fold. "One: we select and review ten new or upcoming titles per month. Two: we send our list to public librarians and encourage them to order the titles. Naomi Shihab Nye on PBS Newshour

"This New and Poisonous Air" Review by the Historical Novel Society
"McOmber's stories are tinged with the bizarre," says Jessica Brockmole. In the HNR Issue BOA's publicaton, This New and Poisononous Air by Adam McOmber, is reviewed by Brockmole. She commends the multilayered charcters within the collection's ten stories. McOmber has been linked to the grim and dark writtings of Poe and Dinesen. Although the comparisions have been made, the review emphasizes that the stories themselves are not dark, "beneath each runs a subtext that darkness resides in us all." The review can be read here.
