BOA hosts yearlong campaign for reading


In celebration of its 40th anniversary, BOA Editions is hosting a yearlong global social media campaign about the power of reading, using the hashtag #BOATurns40.

BOA believes that a single book can transform the way we all read, think, live, and see the world. Asking readers to share their “ideal reading experience” on its anniversary landing page, BOA will select one winner each month from the current pool of participants to win a special edition anniversary gift, and will feature the winning stories on its social media pages. Throughout the year, the campaign will also highlight fresh video content of BOA authors sharing their own ideal reading experiences.

Paired with BOA’s new website design, launched in January, the campaign allows web users to interact closely with BOA’s mission and products, with the option to share information across all major social networking sites using the anniversary hashtag (#BOATurns40).

The overall objective of the campaign is to engage BOA’s new and current audience in conversations about the roles of poetry and literature, and how they have been impacted by BOA books and authors over the past 40 years. This connects with BOA’s overarching anniversary theme of the press’ dedication and contribution to a craft bigger than itself—a tradition as old as humankind.
