Fleda Brown on why Michael Waters' Gospel Night is sexy

logo-ipr Here at BOA we're prone to talking about the "BOA family" of poets, supporters, board, staff and loyal readers. That's not just blowing smoke either! For many of us, BOA does indeed feel like a big family of kindred spirits. Those ties can show themselves in many ways and they're always heartening to see... especially when poets in the BOA family find inspiration from their "poetic siblings." The most recent example of this familial feel can be found in new BOA poet Fleda Brown's discussion of longtime BOA poet Michael Waters' newest collection, Gospel Night. Fleda discussed - and read from - the collection during her August 22nd appearance on the "Michigan Writers on the Air" radio show. The show is broadcasted on Interlochen Public Radio and hosted by Aaron Stander. Fun, erudite, sometimes difficult, sexy. Now that's a review that will make you sit up and pay attention! The entire "Michigan Writers on the Air" show is worth listening to! But if you want to skip to Fleda's discussion of Michael's book, you can skip forward to roughly the 48 minute mark: Michigan Writers on the Air - August 22, 2012 Read more about Michael Waters and find links to purchase his BOA books here: Michael Waters. Fleda Brown's collection No Need of Sympathy will be published by BOA in fall 2013. You can find out more about her here: Fleda Brown.
