Amazing Video Trailer for “Your Father on the Train of Ghosts”

Here at BOA, we know our authors are great writers. That’s why they’re BOA authors! But it’s always thrilling to learn about their hidden talents as well. For instance, John Gallaher has been creating a series of videos inspired  by his new poetry collection, co-authored with G.C. Waldrep, Your Father on the Train of Ghosts. Not only do the videos provide added insight into the poems… they’re also just very, very cool videos in their own right. Now he’s topped himself by creating a full-blown short film (about 14 minutes) the combines all the short clips into one compelling piece.

Watch FuturPointe Dance Perform Li-Young Lee

Let it be known that on Friday, December 3rd, FuturPointe Dance came to BOA’s holiday gala and rocked the house. See for yourself! This is a video of the dance they choreographed as an interpretation of the poem”The City in Which I Love You” by Li-Young Lee. Keep in mind, they’re performing in a small hallway outside the BOA office and basically no one watching even knew this was about to happen. Talk about a nice surprise!

The featured dancers are: N’jelle Gage, William Knighten, Melinda Phillips, Heather Roffe, and Guy Thorne.

The art projection you see in the background was done by Guy Thorne

Interview with Anne Germanacos

BOA poet, Anne Germanacos talks with Michael Krasny from KQED radio on the Forum. They discuss many things literary including her latest collection In The Time Of Girls. Her work has appeared in over 60 literary reviews and anthologies. Germanacos shares stories about her time studying in Greece , where she eventually met her husband. She reads a story out of the new book titled “Twenty-nine Stones for You to Hold” and “Until We Go To Sleep.”  Michael Krasny is extremely taken by the prose, calling it musical and poetic in nature; it is human: filled with pain, frustration and the ever elusive moments of peace.
