Jim
Simmerman has published four poetry collections: Home (Dragon
Gate Inc., 1983) which was selected by Raymond Carver as a Pushcart
"Writer's Choice" Selection; Once Out of Nature (The
Galileo Press, Ltd. 1989) a "Best of the Small Presses" featured
exhibit at the Frankfurt Book Fair; Moon Go Away, I Don't
Love You No More (Miami University Press, 1994) which was
nominated for a National Book Award and a Pulitzer Prize; and
Kingdom Come (Miami U. Press, 1999). He also co-edited
the anthology Dog Music: Poetry About Dogs (St. Martin's
Press, 1996). He has received fellowships from the Arizona Commission
on the Arts, Bread Loaf and Port Townsend Writers' Conferences,
the Fine Arts Work Center and the NEA. He is Regents' Professor
of English at Northern Arizona University.
