Rick Lyon

Rick Lyon

Rick Lyon was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1953 and grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotai, and Syracuse, New York. He holds degrees from Boston and Columbia Universities and is the recipient of a fellowship from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. His poems have been published in The American Poetry Review, Ironwood, The Massachusetts Review, The Nation and Partisan Review. He has had residences at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Yaddo. In 1989 he received the "Discovery"/The Nation Award. Since 1986 he has operated a ferryboat at a marina on the Connecticut River. He lives in Essex, Connecticut.
