Steve
Kronen was born in Cleveland in 1953, and though always a poet,
has also earned a living as a massage therapist, an adjunct professor
of writing, and currently, as a reference librarian. His first
book, Empirical Evidence (1992) , won the Contemporary
Poetry Series Competition. An earlier version of his BOA book
Splendor was named a finalist for the Di Castagnola Award
from the Poetry Society of America. A chapbook of Kronen's poetry
has appeared in the on-line magazine, The Drunken Boat .
He has received fellowships from the Sewanee Writers' Conference,
Breadloaf, the Florida Arts Council, and the Cecil Hemley Memorial
Award from the Poetry Society of America. His poems appear
regularly in such journals as Poetry, New Republic, Ploughshares,
and, The Paris Review.
