William Heyen has been Professor of English
and has been Poet-in-Residence at SUNY Brockport in Brockport,
NY for more than twenty years
and has received fellowships from the Guggenheim, National
Endowment for the Arts, and the American Academy and Institute
of Arts and Letters. Heyen, who was born in Brooklyn and
grew up in Long Island, tells us he once toured the country
by bus with Carlos Castenada.
