The winner of the 1991 Romanian
Academy Prize, Romania's highest literary honor, Daniela Crasnaru
has published more than
ten books of poetry and two collections of short stories.
Currently director at Ion Creanga, the country's leading
publisher of children's books, she has also been a force
in Romanian politics for many years and is well-known for
her defiance of the Ceausescu dictatorship. She lives in
Bucharest, Romania.
